SAMBA, Apr 21: The activists of Shiv Sena led by its Samba district president Romesh Gupta staged a protest demonstration in front of PHE Sub Division here against scarcity of drinking water in the area.
The protesters raising slogans against the PHE authorities warned to intensify agitation in case the drinking water problem in Paki Mandi and Badwani Bazar was not solved within days.
The irate residents of village Khrot in Kathua also staged a demonstration in protest against the water scarcity in the area and blocked the local road for one hour.
The protesters raising slogans against the PHE authorities warned to intensify agitation in case the water supply was not restored immediately. They said if the authorities are unable to supply water in April what will be the condition in June when mercury will be on peak.
Later the Departmental authorities reached the spot and assured to supply water through tankers.
