Pensioners’ Association organizes orthopaedic camp for senior citizens

JAMMU, Apr 22: Under its philanthropic initiative to benefit the senior citizens of the State, the Central Government Pensioners’ Association (CGHS), J&K, Jammu in collaboration with the Meyer Organics Pvt. Ltd and JK Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Clinic, Gandhi Nagar today organized one-day Free Bone Density Test-cum-Orthopaedic Camp for the senior citizens at the Day Care Centre run by the Association at Exhibition Ground.
The camp was inaugurated by the President CGHS and former IGP, S.S. Wazir in presence of other members of the Association.
The objective for organizing the camp was to create awareness among the masses about the diseases related to the bone and joints and other orthopaedic related issues and their preventive measures. More than hundred patients were examined and provided free consultation by the senior doctors of the USA based firm namely, Meyer Organics Pvt. Ltd, which was specially invited by the Association here. The team of the doctors also conducted the Bone Mineral Density Tests of the patients.
Speaking to the media persons on the occasion, Mr. Wazir and senior Member of the Association, K.B. Jandial informed that the Organization undertakes such social initiatives in different parts of the State to extend health related benefits to the poor people, especially the senior citizens and destitute. They appreciated the gesture of the Meyer Organics Pvt. Ltd and JK Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Clinic for extending support in organizing this camp for the needy people.
