JAMMU, Apr 22:  Expressing serious concern over scarcity of drinking water and unscheduled power cuts in Jammu region, former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla said that PDP-BJP Govt has failed to ensure essential supplies to the public.
Addressing a public meeting in Gandhi Nagar constituency here today, Mr Bhalla said though the sweltering climate has smoothened  a bit with mercury sliding down a bit but the water and power supply still is irregular hitting the routine life of people in the region with every passing day.  Forget about the far flung areas and outskirt of winter capital, the Jammu itself is facing acute shortage of water and power supply.
Describing Congress as an instrument of service to the people and having always worked for upliftment and well being of the people keeping aside their caste, colour, region or religion, Bhalla said that Congress Party has always defeated the autocratic behavior of those who believe in suppressing or oppressing and victimizing the masses or opponents while in power.
Mr Bhalla said that Congress has always been desirous to take everyone on board with regard to equal development of all the three regions of the State and people, has determination to address issues confronting people of the State, as this party (Congress) alone had delivered enough and remained committed to make the State  a progressive. Unfortunately people under present dispensation,  are facing great hardships on account of healthcare, education, road connectivity, power & drinking water etc.
Lambasting the approach of Coalition Government in the State, Bhalla said people after getting cheated with hollow slogans and fake promises now want to have public friendly governance in the State and Congress is the only party which can bring such change in the State.
