JAMMU, Apr 23: Minister for Sheep, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Ghani Kohli today visited Kalakote and took stock of the various developmental works in the area.
Stressing on the need for better implemention of State and Centrally sponsored schemes of Animal Husbandry Department, the Minister directed the concerned officers to organize awareness campus especially in rural pockets so that more and more people can avail the benefits of these schemes.
The Minister also asked the officers to create people friendly environment in the offices and ensure prompt public service delivery in an efficient and hassle free manner.
During his visit to Fishery Pond at Kalakote, the Minister directed the officers concerned to ensure proper maintenance of the pond and aware the people especially youth about various State and Centrally sponsored schemes of Fisheries Departm-ent, so that they take up fish culture as their career and raise their socio-economic status.
Mr. Kohli also asked the officers to aware the people regarding soil health card scheme under which soil cards are issued to farmers which will carry crop wise recommendations of nutrients and fertilizers required for the individual farms and help farmers to improve productivity through judicial use of inputs.
The Minister also inspected the under construction mobile veterinary dispensary at Tiryath and directed the executing agency to redouble their efforts for ensuring its completion at an earliest. The Minister was apprised that about 120 Mobile Veterinary dispensaries already functional in Jammu division of which 71 are static and 49 are mobile.
