Two-day conference at BGSBU concludes

RAJOURI, Apr 24: Two-day national conference on `Analysis, Wavelets and their Applications’ organized by Department of Mathematical Sciences, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri, concluded today.
Around 36 Professors and scholars from different Indian Universities besides a number of students of the Department, participated in the conference. The prominent speakers included  Prof  A P Singh,  former I/C Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Rajasthan;  Prof Khalil Ahmed,  former Dean Mathematical Sciences, Jamia Milia University, Delhi;  Prof S D Sharma, HoD  Central University of Jammu;  Prof  B S Komal, former Head University of Jammu;  Prof  Romesh Sharma  from JU and   Dr  Das,   Head Department of Mathematics, SMVDU Katra.
In the valedictory function, Dr  Zaheer Abbas, Head of the Department, informed that  the Department has also planned to conduct  national workshop on MATLAB in the mid of the May and also a students conference in the month of September to boost the students of the region to opt mathematics as a career subject.
Prof  S D Sharma, elaborated the need of such conferences and workshops while               Prof  Romesh  assured all kind of possible support, form his side, for the betterment of the department.  Dr  Javed Iqbal  presented the formal vote of thanks.
Dr  Pawan ,  Dr  Ram Singh, Dr  Mudassir Lone,  Tanveer Ahmed,   Mohd Arif,  Naveen, Shruti Gupta,  Princess Raina  and  Ather Raina were also present on the occasion.
