The CCI members led by  its president, Rakesh Gupta alongwith secretary general  Arun Gupta, Deepak Aggarwal  vice president and Ashu Gupta- treasurer during meeting with the DyCM discussed the demands of the Chamber regarding NIT Srinagar issue.  They also raised their concern over the safety of non-local students.
The DyCM apprised the Chamber members about the initiatives taken by the State and the Central Government about the demands raised by the students that included security, faculty issues and issues pertaining to HRD Ministry. On this, the Chamber made it clear that the NIT issue was not handled timely and in a proper manner that led to all this happen later.
The Jammu Chamber expressed displeasure over the use of excessive force used by the police on the students that too, inside the NIT campus for which there was no justification. The chamber demanded permanent post of CRPF inside the campus as the local police had lost its credibility after their unjust action.  The Chamber also demanded that the open FIR against the students be withdrawn.
The Chamber further expressed serious concern as no action had yet been taken against the section of faculty which added fuel to the fire. It was also conveyed that Chamber had not taken any adverse steps that would have added to the problems as peace was imperative for the overall development of the State but at the same time the Chamber won’t  be a mute spectator if such incidents re-occur that would endanger the lives of the students, studying in the other States across India and disturb peace in our State as that would hit the economy here,  which is already going through troubled waters.
The DyCM assured that effective steps have been taken and it shall be insured that disruptive forces will be dealt with firm hands.
