JAMMU, Apr 26: Principal Sessions Judge Kathua, Sanjay Dhar today awarded life-imprisonment to one Raj Kumari, who had murdered one Soma Devi for ear rings.
After hearing both the sides, court observed, “the present case does not fall within the category of “rarest of rare cases”. Accordingly, in proof of offence under Section 302 RPC, accused Raj Kumari was sentenced to undergo life imprisonment and to pay a fine of Rs 10,000.
In default of payment of fine, she shall undergo rigorous imprisonment for further period of three months. In proof of offence under Section 392 RPC, accused was further sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of three years and pay a fine of Rs 5,000.
