Graduate Enggs’ deputation meets R&B Minister

JAMMU, Apr 27:  A deputation of All Jammu and Kashmir Graduate Engineers’ Association ( Civil) met the Minister for R&B, Abdul  Rehman Veeri  and discussed the pending issues of the civil engineers.
Led by State president of the Association Mujib Tak  and general secretary Gandeep Pargal the members during meeting with the minister submitted a memorandum and projected their demands forcefully.
The major issues which the visiting delegation members  projected before the minister included,  release of running grades, regularization/ confirmation of services of engineers  at all levels, filling up of vacant posts at different levels from  AE  to Chief Engineer by way of promotions, release of pay band- 4 in favour of SE cadre as per directions of High Court  and empowering the Development Commissioner Works.
The minister was apprised that running grades already approved  are yet to be released. They further disclosed that even after rendering over 28 years of service, engineers are still waiting even for the first confirmation.  They said many posts are lying vacant and these posts be filled up for ensuring effective functioning of the department.
The minister gave a patient hearing and assured the Association that their genuine demands will be fulfilled at an earliest.
Prominent among those who accompanied the deputation included N D Khawaja, Gopal Sharma, Rajinder K Sharma, Ashok Tandon, Kulbhushan Bahu, Z A Shapoo, Sunil Tagotra, Saleem Sheikh, Ayub Wani, J P Saraf and Rahat Gupta.
