SWWA deputation takes up demands with Minister

JAMMU, Apr 27: A deputation of Sheep and Wool Workers’ Association (SWWA) of Jammu Division today met Minister for Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Abdul Gani Kohli, and apprised him of varius problems being faced by them.
The demands put forth by the deputation were providing better living facilities of the staff at all Sheep Breeding Farms, paying two and a half days extra pay in favour of the employees working round the clock in these Farms, ownership rights of Government rams to the breeders to whom the rams are issued on permanent basis after getting 50 % (subsidized) cost of the ram and after they retain the ram continuously for three years.
The deputation also highlighted other demands like purchase of standard quality drugs and timely procurement of vaccines, creation of posts of section officer at Joint Director level offices and Head Assistants in all the six districts on the pattern of four newly created districts, enhancement of rent of Sheep Extension Centers, filling up of vacant posts in the department, provision of three years period instead of five years for next promotion and providing full 90 days Bahak Allowance for camping staff of field/farms at Highland pastures.
The Minister gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured an early redressal of the genuine demands of the employees.
The deputation was led by Ashok Badyal, president and Rajinder Singh Pawar, convener of the Association.
