Inter-state narco smuggler held with ganja

JAMMU, Apr 27: Police arrested inter-state narcotic smuggler along with three kilograms ganja from Rajiv Nagar area of Narwal.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team laid a naka near Rajiv Nagar and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police recovered three kilograms of ganja from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The accused has been identified as Shyam Sunder Kurmi, son of Boodhoo Lal Kurmi, a resident of Chattisgarh, at present Rajiv Nagar, Narwal Chowk.
He had brought the consignment from his native village for selling it among the youths here.
A case under FIR Number 72/16 under Section 8/20 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the accused at Trikuta Nagar police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Trikuta Nagar Inspector Kuldeep Khajuria and assisted by Incharge Narwal police post SI Mehmood khan made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO East Chandan Kohli and SP South Shaazad Salaria.
