SAMBA, Apr 27: One person was arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl in Sumb village of Samba district, police said today.
The incident took place on Tuesday night when the 11-year-old girl had gone to shop to purchase something. The accused lured the girl and allegedly raped her in a shop. The girl narrated the incident after returning home following which her parents lodged a complaint with the police, an official spokesperson said.
The police immediately launched a man hunt for the accused and arrested him. The accused was identified as Kuldeep Singh (35), S/o Gyan Singh, R/o Sumb village of Samba. The police has registered a case of rape and abduction under relevant sections of the law against the accused after conducting medical examination of the girl.
