Vigilance books 2 TSOs

Excelsior Correspondent
SAMBA, Apr 29: Vigilance Organization Jammu has booked TSO Samba, TSO Vijaypur and others for illegal issuance of kerosene oil to unauthorized dealers, who had not renewed their licenses after March 2012 and 2013, thereby indulging in black marketing of the oil.
A verification revealed that the then TSO Samba and Vijaypur,  namely  Kuldeep Singh and  Sahil Sharma, respectively,  in connivance with concerned unauthorized dealers,  issued kerosene oil of 1,69,000 and 1,41,000 litres to 21 unauthorized dealers who were not holding the licences. The oil was issued in utter defiance of directions from the Directorate of CA&PD Jammu about the non issuance of kerosene oil to unlicensed dealers, who thereby misappropriated the same and deprived the deserving ration card holders from receiving the ration quota as per norms.
By acting in the aforesaid manner, the then TSOs of  Samba and Vijaypur abused their official positions thereby conferring undue benefit upon these beneficiary dealers and putting the State exchequer to loss with the corresponding gain to themselves and beneficiary dealers.
The acts of omission and commissions on the part of  Kuldeep Singh, Sahil Sharma and  others,  constitute the offences punishable under Section  5(1) (d) r/w 5(2) J&K P.C.Act Svt. 2006 and Section 120-B RPC. Accordingly a case FIR No.12/2016 P/S VOJ was registered in P/S VOJ and further investigation into the case is in progress.
