JAMMU, Apr 30: Minister for Public Works and Parliamentary Affairs Abdul Rehman Veeri today said that development of rural and far flung areas is high on the priority of the Coalition Government.
The Minister, who commenced his three day long tour of the Peer Panjal range today addressed series of public gatherings after inaugurating and laying foundation stone of many developmental projects.
The Minister inaugurated 50 meter span motorable bridge at Thal Mohra, Nowshera. The bridge completed at a cost of Rs 1.50 crore, connects large population of 4 rural villages of Rajpura, Domail, Patta and Thal Mohra.
He also inaugurated VVIP block of Dak Bunglow, Nowshera completed at a cost of Rs 55.0 lakh.
During the visit, the Minister was accompanied by Legislators Ravinder Raina, Chowdhary Qamar Hussain, Surinder Chowdhary, Varinder Gupta, Vibodh Gupta, Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri, MD, JKPCC, Chief Engineers of R&B, PMGSY and Mughal Road and other concerned officers.
Veeri also laid foundation stone of motorable bridge at Keri-Tredwal at Doongi Nallah, Rajouri. The bridge costing Rs 1.37 crore will benefit a population of 2500 souls of Tredwal and Khanka Dhara.The Minister fixed the dead line of March 2017 for the completion of the bridge.
The Minister also inspected construction work of Dhanwan Chakli bridge which is progressing at a cost of Rs 7.40 crore. He also fixed the deadline for completion of bridge by December this year.
The Minister visited Lamberi village, Rajouri and on the public demand directed the concerned engineers to prepare DPR for the road from Jameana to Shamshan Ghat. He addressed various public gatherings at Sunderbani, Keri and Nowshera.
Later, the Minister took stock of the overall developmental scenario of the district at an officers meeting at Rajouri. He directed the officers to work with dedication and ensure timely completion of all ongoing projects.
