Max temp crosses 40 degrees in Jammu

JAMMU: The winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir today witnessed another hot day as the maximum temperature was recorded over 40 degrees Celsius.

”Though temperature in the recent past remained normal and dipped on some days but today, it was season’s maximum 40.9 degree Celsius,” the weatherman said. He said the temperature will soar in the coming days. The minimum temperature was registered at 22.0 degrees C.

Yesterday, the maximum temperature was 39.6 degrees C and the minimum 21.4 degree C. In the past one week, the maximum temperature recorded here was between 36.0 degrees and 37 degrees C.       Being the weekend, people preferred to stay indoors to avoid direct contact with sunlight. (AGENCIES)
