JKGB organizes awareness program on financial inclusion

SRINAGAR, May 2: J&K Grameen Bank (JKGB) in collaboration with NABARD organized an awareness programme on the Pradhan Mantri’s social security schemes at village Gutlipora in district Bandipora.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest, VK Sharma, Senior Manager, MF&FI Department, J&K Grameen Bank, informed the participants at length regarding the benefits of social security schemes named PMJJBY, PMSBY and Atal Pension Yojana (APY).
He further informed the gathering that these schemes have been designed to provide security cover to the poor population particularly those working in the unorganized sectors. He advised the people to avail these benefit through nearest Grameen Bank Branch.
He also made people aware of new Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana in which the premium rates to be paid by the farmers have been brought down substantially so as to enable more farmers avail insurance cover against crop loss on account of natural calamities and thrust is also given on activation of RuPay cards.
Maqsood Ahmed Mir, Area Manager, Bandipora, also spoke at length about various bank schemes. Representatives of various Line departments also attended the programme.
