Srinagar, May 3: DG Commandant General SDRF/ HG/CD Jammu and Kashmir, S Gopal Reddy today visited district Anantnag district and convened a meeting with the officers of South Kashmir Range at SDRF lines in the district.
A police spokesman said the meeting was attended by Commandant SDRF Kashmir, Abdul Waheed Shah, SP Operations Anantnag Al Tahir Geelani, Deputy SP HG/CD of South Kashmir Range; Civil Defense Wardens/Volunteers of District Anantnag besides, a large number of prominent citizens also attended the meeting.
“Various issues concerning SDRF/HG-CD were discussed. The steps to be taken at the time of disaster and pre disaster mitigation, besides, matter pertaining to training and equipping of SDRF personnel at par with NDRF were highlighted during the meeting,” he said.
S Gopal Reddy insisted upon all the officers present in the meeting to mobilize their components in order to educate people about disaster mitigation and to respond rapidly in case of eventualities, the spokesman said.
“On the conclusion, a mock exercise on disaster mitigation was also exhibited by the expert teams of SDRF in order to aware the people about the measures to be taken during disaster,” said the spokesman. A large number of people among general masses witnessed the demonstration, he added.
