JAMMU, May 3: Evacuees Property Tenants Welfare Society executive body held a meeting under the chairmanship of its president, Inder Mohinder Tar Singh wherein issues pertaining to EP Tenants were discussed at thread bare.
Executive Body during the deliberations decided to further strengthen the struggle to achieve the just demand of ‘proprietary rights’ for the tenants. “Enough is enough we have already struggled a lot and the previous Governments and the present Government too so far is not paying any heed to our just demands’’ said Tar Singh.
“Among us there is a large number of the PoK refugees (of 1947, 1965 and 1971) who were displaced during three wars with Pakistan; they genuinely deserve the “proprietary rights” on these houses and land which they are maintaining for the last over three to four generations. Besides, these the West Pakistan refugees who do not have State Subject and voting rights in the Vidhan Sabha elections are also in possession of houses and land. They too deserve the same rights added Tar Singh.
