JAMMU, May 4: Speaker Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta today inspected the ongoing developmental works of Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital & Leprosy Rehabilitation Promotional Unit Gangyal. He also took stock of the facilities being provided to patients in the institute
The Speaker convened a meeting with concerned officers and reviewed the functioning of the hospital. He was apprised about the immediate requirements for improving the facilities for the patients.
Responding to the issues raised by the hospital administration, Kavinder Gupta directed JMC to submit a proposal for separate toilet complex in the premises at an earliest. The officers of PDD were directed to provide a dedicated transformer to augment power supply in the hospital.
Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker reiterated the commitment of the Government to improve health care system in the State and assured that requisite steps will be taken to upgrade facilities in Rajiv Gandhi Hospital on priority
The meeting was attended by CMO Jammu Dr. Robinder Khajuria, Medical Superinten-dent Dr. Neeta Singh, officers from PDD, PHE, JMC and Housing Board.
Earlier, the Speaker inspected development works at Sunjwan and kick started the tile work of lanes in the area. He directed the officers of executing agency to closely monitor the works to keep a check on the quality of works. He also took stock of the grievances of the people of the area regarding water and power supply, road connectivity and drainage. The Speaker assured that all the genuine issues will be redressed in a phased manner.
