SAMBA, May 4: DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range Ashkoor Ahmed Wani asked students to stay away from social evils like drug addition and spare maximum time for study to become a good and responsible citizen of India.
He stated this during a function to inaugurate water cooler along with water purifier at Government Higher Secondary School, Sumb.
DIG was accompanied by Joginder Singh, SSP Samba, Adil Hamid, Additional SP Samba and Varinder Singh DySP Headquarters Samba.
The programme was organized by SSP Samba Joginder Singh under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) of Jammu and Kashmir Police.
DIG Jammu and SSP Samba also interacted with students and staff and also praised for discipline among the students shown during programme.
Principal Government Higher Secondary School Sumb Gurbachan Lal, staff members and Sarpanch Suraj Prakash Verma were also present. Principal and Sarpanch stated that water cooler was urgently required keeping in view the hot weather conditions.
Later, Ashkoor Ahmed Wani also addressed people at Ram Leela ground in village Sumb.
The meeting was attended by large number of Sarpaches, Panches of adjoining halqa panchayats and citizens of the area.
The speakers highlighted various issues for which necessary directions were given to SSP Samba.
SSP Samba was also directed to properly project the issues which require attention of higher ups so that these are addressed at the earliest.
