KATHUA, May 4: Advocate Ashok Sharma has been elected as new president of the Hiranagar Bar.
After being declared the winner, Ashok Sharma, in his address to his jubilant lawyer supporters, said, “Upholding the Bar Constitution and striving for achieving justice for weaker sections of society will be one of my first priorities as the Bar president.”
Senior lawyer Th Ranjeet Singh said that elections is not about who holds office, instead, it is about holding those persons accountable for their actions in office, as they disburse public funds, or as they apply the regardless of one’s ethnic make-up, religion, gender or creed.
The new president hoped that he shall get full cooperation to re-lift the glory of the Bar and take the Hiranagar Bar to new heights and bring in sweeping changes.
