Officials creating hurdles in releasing ration: AMCCC

JAMMU, May 4: All Migrant Camp Coordination Committee in its meting here today held under the leadership of Desh Rattan while discussing various problems of the community said that despite release of funds by the Centre recently the State Government was deliberately creating hindrances in distribution of ration to the displaced people in camps.
The meeting said that despite the fact that on April 12 government issued order that migrants will be paid relief as per old scale no ration was supplied to migrant camps till date which is a cause of concern.
The meeting which among others was addressed by B L Koul, C L Raina and KV sid that CAPD was deliberately trying to increase the problems of the displaced people from Valley as the Relief and CAPD secretaries lack coordination in this regard with the result the hapless migrants have been made to suffer, it added.
Then meeting said that various migrant families are at the verge of starvation and denial of ration is a human rights violation. The AMCCC has sought the intervention of HR bodies including National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in this regard.
