Cong holds convention at Hiranagar

KATHUA, May 5: A delegates’ convention was held by Congress Party at Hiranagar today under the chairmanship of former MLA Girdhari Lal Chalotra ex MLA Hiranagar. A large number of partymen attended the convention in which various problems of the people were discussed which included shortage of drinking water in Kandi belt, electricity and road problems.
The speakers highlighted various other issues and criticized the BJP for personnel attack on Congress leadership including Party president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi.
In his address Mr Chalotra raised the issues of farmers who do not get the remunerative prices for their produce due to faulty policies of government. He said the middlemen take the advantage while the farmers are paid nothing.
