JKTF highlights demands, issues of teachers

UDHAMPUR, May 5: A meeting of J&K Teachers Forum of district Udhampur was held here today under the chairmanship of Surinder Sharma, the district president, who highlighted the issues of teachers.
The meet expressed serious concern over unprecedented delay in release of salary of the teachers under SSA and RMSA schemes as well as release of other payments on account of various local funds. The Forum urged the Government to modify the payment mode for the welfare of schools as well as for the students. “Payments on account of Mid Day Meal have not been cleared till now and the huge amount has been utilized by the teachers from the own pocket,” Surinder Sharma said.
The Forum also complained that some titles of books under free supply, have not been issued till date. Moreover these books are not available in the market and this has created hardship for the students, the meet added and criticized the casual approach of Government towards the students.
The meet demanded release of salary and other grants under SSA and RMSA schemes, release of 6 percent DA from January 2016 and enhancement of Medical Allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 2000, removal of pay anomalies of Masters and Clerical staff, issuance of promotion lists in various disciplines, etc.
The meet was attended by Ram Parshad, Rajesh Sharma, Chaman Lal, Sanjay Baria, Kewal Krishan, Satvir Chowdry, Ravinder Tripathi, Gulshan Ahmad, Nazir Ahmed, Girdhari Lal, Sansar Singh, Romesh Chander, Shiv Dev Singh, Vijay Kumar, Ravi Padha, Rakesh Balwal, Rajinder Kumar, Ajay Kumar and others.
