JAMMU, May 6: Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) and Trustee J&K Dharamrth Trust, Vikramaditya Singh conducted an extensive three day tour of the Chenab region starting with Bhaderwah, where he paid respects at the holy shrines of Vasuki Nag temple, Gatha temple, Ganeshji temple and Gupt Ganga temple.
During the visit, party leaders Mahinder Kotwal, Satpal Charak, Thakur Yudhveer Singh, Kewal Kotwal and others met the MLC and apprised him of public concerns. Vikramaditya also had a long meeting with the CEO of Bhaderwah Development Authority to understand pending and ongoing developmental works being undertaken by him.
Representatives of Sanathan Dharm Sabha and other religious bodies also called on the MLC to discuss modalities of the Kailash Yatra. Secretary J&K Dharmarth Trust, Shashi Khajuria also accompanied the MLC on the tour.
Enroute to Kishtwar at Inderwal Thatri, Vikramaditya was greeted by Abdul Majid Bhatt, Talib Hussain, Abdul Rehman Kashmiri and other workers. He then visited Mata Sarthal Devi Shrine. After performing Puja he took a meeting of the management committee of The Sarthal Devi Trust. Vikramaditya addressed concerns raised by local citizens with regard to hurdles faced and facilities required by the pilgrims at the holy shrine. He assured the committee that matters related to road connectivity, water supply and sanitation will be taken up with the concerned authorities at the highest level. At Kishtwar he was greeted by MLC Firdaus Tak, former MLC Syed Asghar Ali, PDP district president Nasir Sheikh and others.
Vikramaditya kept up family tradition started by his father Dr Karan Singh, by visiting both the holy shrines of Shah Mohd Farid ud-Din Baghdadi (Asthan Bala) and Shah Asrar-ud-Din Wali (Asthan Pain). En route to Gauri Shanker temple, he stopped to spend some time with the children of Ashiana Orphanage and distributed sweets. At Gauri Shanker temple he met with local community members and performed Puja with the Mahantji. He assured the public that he will continue to visit and take up development issues pertaining to all three districts of Chenab region that have not got due attention by successive Governments.
