SBI issues fresh notification, keeps English, Urdu as official languages

JAMMU, May 6: A delegation led by Verindar Kuchroo, BJP Displaced District (DD)under the leadership of T N Bhat and other team members met SBI Zonal officer including other senior officials, today.
During the meeting, the delegation discussed the advertisement of SBI posts where only language and Kashmiri language knowing candidates are asked to apply for the posts. The team discussed with them to put Hindi/English so that majority of candidates can apply for the advertised posts by SBI. They said majority of candidates are not Urdu knowing in Jammu division.
They further said that by advertising Urdu language violates human rights and recruitment policy.
Kuchroo warned SBI authority for gross human rights violation.
However, the SBI Recruitment Board from Mumbai later issued a fresh notification in which Urdu and English have been kept as official language for J&K and Kashmiri and Dogri were kept as regional languages for the candidates appearing in banking service exams.
It may be recalled that after issuing the notification earlier SBI had kept Urdu as official language for this examination.
