Kristen Bell opens up about anxiety and depression

LOS ANGELES, May 7:  Actress Kristen Bell has revealed that she struggled with anxiety and depression from a young age.
The 35-year-old star, who has daughters Lincoln, three, and Delta, 16 months, with husband Dax Shepard, said the problem runs through her family, reported People magazine.
“I’m extremely co-dependent. I shatter a little bit when I think people don’t like me. That’s part of why I lead with kindness and I compensate by being very bubbly all the time because it really hurts my feelings when I know I’m not liked. And I know that’s not very healthy and I fight it all the time,” the “Frozen” star said.
Bell told “Off Camera With Sam Jones” that her mother, a nurse, gave her tips to combat the feelings of depression.
The actress said she is not ashamed to ask for help and still takes medication to keep her depression and anxiety at bay.
“If you do decide to go on a prescription to help yourself, understand that the world wants to shame you for that, but in the medical community, you would never deny a diabetic his insulin. Ever.
“But for some reason, when someone needs a serotonin inhibitor, they’re immediately crazy or something.” (PTI)
