HC’s directive on Pakaldul power project

JAMMU, May 7: In a petition filed by Drangdhuran Hydro Power Consortium, High Court has restrained the Government from giving any effect to the fresh tender notices issued for execution of Pakaldul Hydroelectric Project in Kishtwar.
After hearing Senior Advocate Z A Shah with Advocate Vipin Gandotra appearing for the petitioner company whereas Senior Advocate PN Rain with Advocate JA Hamal appearing for the Chenab Valley Power projects Pvt. Ltd, Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir observed, “keeping in view the magnitude of the dispute, then keeping in view the largest interest of all stakeholders, more particularly, the object of the dream project, I am convinced that a case has been carved out for indulgence”.
“Thus, the communication impugned dated 16.02.2016 shall remain in abeyance, with liberty to the respondent, if he so chooses, to re-consider the decision so taken, after hearing the petitioners”, the High Court said, adding “the fresh tender notices issued regarding the project and the bids if any received shall not be carried into effect till next date before the bench which is fixed in the week commencing May 16.
