KATHUA, May 7: Reiterating resolve of the Government to upgrade rural infrastructure, BJP MLA from Kathua, Rajiv Jasrotia today said focused attention is being paid to development of remote and border belts on modern lines. He said work on the road map to address development aspirations of those living in far-flung areas has already begun results of which have started becoming visible on ground.
Addressing a public meeting after dedicating road project from Plah Morh to Kumbri worth Rs 2.9 crore here which was very long pending demand of people, MLA said the Government is committed to ensure speedy and all round development of every nook and corner of the State with focus on strengthening the infrastructure in crucial sectors like road connectivity, PHE, health, education, electricity and social welfare.
MLA further said that with active support from the Central Government mega development initiatives have been taken by the coalition Government in the State.
On this occasion, locals apprised him about various demands including improving link roads of the villages, repair of lanes, drains and culverts, upgradation of transformers, installation of new poles and wires and other related issues of the villages. MLA gave patient hearing to the locals and said that all genuine demands would be looked into on priority.
MLA informed that series of registration cum awareness camps have been organized for ensuring large scale participation of people in different schemes of Labour, Social Welfare, Agriculture, Rural and other allied Departments and now it is duty of Sarpanchs and Panchs to ensure maximum participation in these camps,” he said.
He enjoined upon the youth to inculcate spirit of entrepreneurship and look beyond Government sector for jobs, adding that various schemes launched by the Government enable youth to start new ventures.
