DC calls for updation of revenue record

KATHUA, May 7: District Development Commissioner Kathua Ramesh Kumar today laid thrust on revenue officers to maintain all the revenue record and update it within prescribed time frame, also instructed to make provision for preservation of old record with modern digital techniques. He was chairing a review meeting of Revenue Department at DC office complex, Kathua in connection to get first hand appraisal of the department.
During the meeting, he called for expediting the land identification and acquisitions cases under which some of these important projects includes, establishment of Nirbhaya centre at Kathua, construction of office building for drugs and flood control, establishment of permanent composite regional centre(CRS),establishment of 100 MV solar power project, construction of 20X20 MVA, 132/33 KV grid station at Basohli, IT park at Kathua can be processed at an earliest time.
While reviewing implementation of service provided under Public Service Guarantee Act, he directed revenue officials to ensure transparency and time bond delivery of service to people, and instructed them to hang a display board outside their offices detailing numbers and kind of applications received under Public Service Guarantee Act and other applications with date of disposal on daily basis.
Giving a strong message to revenue officials working in the field, the DC said that all the Tehsil heads will be responsible for any delay, be it a part of sub-ordinate in the field and stressed upon the Tehsildars to ensure that all the Patwaris shall be present at their respective Patwar Khanas atleast on two notified days in a week.

In a move to make the functioning of newly created revenue units viz Niabats, Tehsils and Sub-Divisions more effective, the DC directed revenue officers Tehsildars/SDM’s to submit the proposal for capacitating the infrastructure for onward submission.
