Dogra Sadar Sabha observes ‘Save Birds Day’

JAMMU, May 7: Dogra Sadar Sabha, J&K observed ‘Save the Birds Day’ under the chairmanship of Th Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister and president Dogra Sadar Sabha, here today.
A large number of School children, students from Higher Educational Institutions and common people participated in the function, wherein earthen pots were distributed to the public and children for keeping water for the birds.
During the function, all the participants were sensitized about the conservation of water and providing water to the birds in order to save their lives particularly in the ‘Kandi’ areas.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Charak stressed on the revival of water abodies/ponds in the ‘Kandi’ areas in order to recharge the ground water and availability of water during summer by conserving rain water into these water bodies as was the custom earlier.
