Jammu, May 8: Punjabi Lekhak Sabha today conducted its fortnightly literary meet at Tagore Academy, Rani Talab, Digiana, Jammu.
A poetry recitation session was organized by during the meet in which Kanwal Kashmiri, a renowned Punjabi short story writer presided and Amar Singh Kuka, a well known Gazal writer was the Chief Guest.
Writers from Jammu and Srinagar participated in the meeting. Poets recited their fresh creations. Those who presented their poetry included Ajit Singh Mastana, Resham Kour Resham, M S Kamra, Rahi Simbalpuria, Piara Singh Dhanjal, Charanjeet Singh, Harjit Singh Uppal, Amar Singh Kuka and Dr. Baljeet Raina.
A discussion was also conducted to consider the conduct and output of the recently conducted Two Days Punjabi Writers’ Conference by Punjabi Lekhak Sabha, at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu.
The participants expressed their opinions about the conduct of the conference and putforth the suggestions for better results of the conduct of next conferences.
Dr Monojit while speaking on this occasion said that efforts need to be made to broaden the number of working force and base of the organization. Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik said that the conference has given new dimension to the intellectual class to ponder over the subjects of theatre, tele- serials and films in developing Punjabi language.
Ishupal Singh and Jang S Verman also presented their views during this session.
