JAMMU, May 8: Police today arrested a drug peddler and recovered 50 grams charas from his possession at Jullakha Mohallah area, falling under the jurisdiction of Pacca Danga police station.
According to police sources, police team laid a special naka near Jullakha Mohallah and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstance.
During checking, police recovered 50 grams charas from the possession of the man and arrested him on the spot.
The accused has been identified as Deepak Kumar, son of Sudesh Kumar, a resident of Talab Tillo.
A case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against the accused at Pacca Danga police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Pacca Danga Inspector Ajay Bhat assisted by Incharge Chowk Chabutra police post SI Sunil Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Vivek Shekhar Sharma and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
