Militants have looted arms and ammunition from a police station in Pulwama district Adijan area. The police post was opened essentially for the protection of a small minority community living there. Four police men supposed to be on duty were reported absent and away in their homes. The fifth policeman on duty was sleeping soundly in the police station when about seven militants barged in, lifted the box in which four rifles and ammunition remained deposited and carried it away in the dead of night. Was it pre-planned and with the connivance of the absent policemen, one may ask. Previously also, at a number of places where the police posts were established for the protection of small religious minority, the militants barged into the station and looted the arms and ammunition. This is the type of protection the vulnerable minority is provided with in Kashmir.
