JAMMU, May 10: State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has said that the Supreme Court decision on NEET will ensure justice to the students of the State.
There will be total transparency in conducting the entrance tests for MBBS and BDS and future of J&K students will only be safe after national competitive body will conduct these tests, BJP chief spokesperson Sunil Sethi and spokesperson, Balbir Ram Rattan told reporters here today.
Mr Sethi said only the exams will be conducted by a national body and the competition will be restricted to students of J&K only. The impartiality will be maintained in these tests for entrance examinations of MBBS and BDS both for Government as well as private colleges, he added.
He said it was stated that in recent past there had been number of instances of pilferage and leaking of papers by Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE) and even criminal cases are pending against officials of BOPEE and beneficiaries.
Sunil Sethi said that stand of State has been vindicated for protecting interests of the students of J&K as Supreme Court has agreed with plea of State Government of protecting interests of students of State by providing for reservations as per State laws for seats in the State.
He further noted that misinformation campaign started by National Conference and some separatist groups on this issue is only to flare trouble in Valley during tourist season, is anti-people and the designs are well known to masses to fell prey to. Those wishing to befool people by raising these types of issues are in fact living in fool’s paradise.
Sunil Sethi and Balbir Ram Rattan said that having been left with no political issues and also being frustrated of being out of power Omar Abdullah is firing arrows in dark with the hope that it may hit some target at some point of time but this is absolutely misplaced.
The people are appreciative of the good work being done by the coalition Government, which is working round the clock to deliver good governance to the people and it is infusing new confidence in the masses. The faith and confidence of people will translate in the performance of coalition partners in coming local bodies and Panchayat elections.
Expressing concern over the statement of Omar Abdullah opposing establishment of Sainik Colony in Valley, he termed it totally unfortunate. Mr Abdullah was misleading the people with his statement as there is no harm in establishment of a Sainik Colony in Kashmir for the State subject ex soldiers or serving army men. By such statements they want too see blood on the Valley roads. Any body creating trouble including Omar Abdullah in this regard is paying with fire, Mr Sethi added.
