JAMMU, May 10: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla today said that an attempt by the ruling alliance to divide society on the religion and regional lines is dangerous for the State and the country.
Addressing party workers at Sanjay Nagar and Rani Talab in Gandhi Nagar constituency today, the former Minister expressing great disappointment over mounting problems of common man said that Govt needs to take issues of public on priority. He said that Congress has always given importance to all sections of society and is committed to take issues of people to logical conclusion.
Mr Bhalla further said that nothing is visible on ground to endorse tall claims of Govt that there is decisive movement forward on political, economic and developmental fronts transforming state into a politically stable and economically prosperous State. “Present Govt has added only miseries of people despite claims that Government strives for larger political empowerment and inclusive prosperity of people,” Bhalla said and added that he doesn’t believe in rhetoric and mud-slinging for political survival, but has strong faith in the fact that people value only performance and delivery.
The Congress leader said the winds of depression are blowing from every nook and corner of the State and in the coming days Govt will have to pay a heavy price for it if it continues to ignore prime issues of people. The people of State are now looking at Congress as it has always strived for the dignified resolution of all the issues confronting State.
Reminding coalition partners of the promises made by them during Assembly elections, Bhalla said the promises of Sadak, Paani, Bijli and Rozgar have gone to winds.
The prices of essential commodities have gone sky high. Ration is not available to the people. Casual, need based and daily wagers working in Power Development Department, PHE, Irrigation and other departments are not being paid their wages since long. The Govt must issue of agitating PHE workers as public is suffering in big way.
