Notorious narco smuggler nabbed with brown sugar, intoxicant capsules

JAMMU, May 12: Hari Market police nabbed a notorious narcotic smuggler and recovered 1.5 kilograms brown sugar having market value of more than one crore and 300 intoxicant capsules.
As per police sources, on specific information, a police team intercepted a person at Hari Market, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
On seeing police cops, the person escaped from the spot. Stinking something fishy, the cops chased and intercepted the person near some distance from the naka point.
During checking, police recovered 300 capsules, 1.5 kilograms brown sugar having market value of more than one crore and cash worth Rs 2.20 lakh form the possession of the person and nabbed him.
The accused has been identified as Vicky Kumar, son of Late Sukh Ram, a resident of Kanji House, Jammu.
It is pertinent to mention that Vicky Kumar, who himself is a drug addict was involved in smuggling and sale of narcotics drugs from last so many years.
A case under FIR number 37/16 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at City police station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge police post Hari Market SI Kunal Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SHO City police station Inspector Shakti Devi and SDPO City North Vivek Shekhar Sharma.
