Gujjar, Bakerwals must be included in Kashmir talks: Poonchi

POONCH, May 12: Shamsheer Hakla Poonchi, a prominent Gujjar leader of J&K has urged the Prime Minister to bring about a solution of Kashmir tangle but the Gujjar and Bakerwal community must be included in the talks.
The Gujjar leader appealed to fix a date for dialogue on the solution of Kashmir problems, so that an early and lasting peace in the J&K State be restored and thereby continued militancy in the J&K State might be brought to an end.
Poonchi appealed the PM that while initiating any dialogue on solution of Kashmir problem Gujjar- Bakerwal community must be included in the talks. He said excluding Ladakh and Kargil district the Gujjar and Bakerwal community resides in 20 districts of the State.
The population of Gujjar and Bakerwal community is over 34 lakh in the State with most of the Gujjar and Bakerwals residing in far flung, hilly and mountain areas near forest and on the LoC of Indo-Pak.
