Enforce preventive measures to curb road accidents: DIG to officers

JAMMU, May 13: Deputy Inspector General of Police, Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range Ashkoor Ahmed Wani asked the officers to enforce preventive measures to curb road accidents.
He asked this to officers during crime review meeting of Sub Division City East Jammu, which covers the jurisdiction of Police Station Trikuta Nagar, Channi Himmat and Bagh-e-Bahu.
Shaazad Salaria SP South, Chanden Kohli, SDPO East, SHO Trikuta Nagar Inspector Kuldeep Khajuria, SHO Channi Himmat Inspector Sajjad Haider, SHO Bagh-e-Bahu Inspector Vijay Singh and all Investigating Officers of Sub Division were present in the crime review meeting.
During the meeting, DIG stressed for speedy disposal of cases in order to deliver timely justice to the public and necessary guidelines/directions were given on spot.
While discussing the cases related to road accidents, DIG said that special police deployment should be made at vulnerable points especially during peak hours of traffic rush in this Sub Division in order to save the precious lives. He directed SDPO East Chandan Kohli to ensure strict implementation of preventive measures in collaboration with Traffic Police.
DIG Jammu also directed the SHOs to have a close monitoring over the identified drug peddlers in their respective jurisdiction, so as to reach the key players indulging in this trade. Wani directed them to deal with the drug peddlers with iron hands to curb the menace of drug abuses in the society.
