Pepz Industries targets Rs 125 cr revenues

TIRUCHIRAPPALI, Sept 18: Mattress and sleeping solutions company Pepz Industries is targeting Rs 125 crore business this year against Rs 80 crore last year, a senior company official said here today.
Joint Managing Director of Coimbatore-headquartered Pepz Industries G Shankar Ram said the company is maintaining a phenomenal growth rate in the last few years.
From a turnover of Rs 4 crore in 2006, the company’s rose to Rs 80 crore last year, he added.
The company has a manufacturing facility built at the 15 acre industrial campus in Coimbatore, which produced 400 pieces a day, he said, adding that there are two more units in Pune and Delhi which roll out 50 pieces each a day.
Pepz is looking at constructing a second plant at Coimbatore with an aim to double the production capacity.
He said the total mattress market was pegged at Rs 2500 crore in the country.
Pepz has 40 per cent market share in the spring mattress category. At present it imports about 40-50 per cent of the raw materials from countries like Turkey, China and Japan. (PTI)
