SRINAGAR, May 14: The People’s Republican Party (PRP) has expressed its serious concern over delay in construction of 200 bedded District Hospital and Bus Stand at Ganderbal the work on which has been started way back in 2007.
The PRP president, Mir Ghulam Rasool Butwani in a statement issued here today said that the people of the entire Ganderbal are facing many hardships due to failure of the Government to complete work on these two prestigious projects in the town. He said failure of the Government to intensify the work on the two projects despite the constant demand of the people has generated a lot of public resentment as the people from far-flung areas of Sonamarg and Kulan have to reach Srinagar or Soura for treatment due to non availability of facilities at Ganderbal.
He said there is also death of staff in the hospital as the authorities have failed to create the posts to run a full- fledged District Hospital.
Mir while expressing concern over the delay in construction of bus stand at Ganderbal said the work on it is also going at snail’s pace with the authorities taking no interest in expediting the same. He said due to the failure of construction of bus stand in time the buses are being parked on roadside and that results a constant traffic blockade on this busy road.
Mir demanded that the work on the two projects be expedited failing which PRP activists will come to streets.
