SRINAGAR, Sept 18: Arjan Singh, Marshal of the Indian Air Force, was received with honour when he arrived at the Raj Bhavan to meet N. N. Vohra, Governor, here today.
During their meeting, the Governor and Marshal of the Air Force discussed the obtaining and emerging security scenario in the region.
G. R. Sufi, State Chief Information Commissioner also called on Mr Vohra.
During the meeting, the State Chief Information Commissioner briefed the Governor about the functioning of the State Information Commission for enhancing accountability and furthering the interests of good governance.
On being informed about certain constraints in the enforcement of the State Right to Information Act 2009, the Governor hoped that these will be resolved very soon.
Hakeem Mohammad Yasin, Member of the Legislative Assembly also called on Mr Vohra.
During his meeting with the Governor, Mr. Yasin discussed his concerns about the implementation of socio-economic development schemes and programmes, issues relating to the establishment of decentralized rural and urban self-governance institutions and other matters relating to the rapid growth of the State.
