JAMMU, May 15: Rajesh Gupta, MLA Jammu East Constituency today laid the foundation stone of a parking project at the historic Mubarak Mandi near Old Mahafazkhana.
The much awaited parking project is estimated to cost Rs 15 lakh.
Gupta while speaking on the occasion said that he appreciated the effort of Deputy CM Dr Nirmal Singh who took up this project in the shortest possible time to rid Jammu city of the problem of traffic congestion.
In his address, MLA also acknowledged the positive contribution of Div Com. Pawan Kotwal and also thanked the Commissioner JMC Mandeep Kour for taking keen interest in this project.
Rajesh Gupta was accompanied by State Mahila Morcha, president, Purnima Sharma and social activist Surinder Aggarwal and Pappu Raina a social activists of the area.
Rajesh Gupta said that he had said at the time of elections that he would work tirelessly to solve the problem of traffic congestion and today’s project is a step in that direction. There are more such projects in the pipeline in the days to come.
The officials of the JMC , XEn Joginder Singh, AEE Gurcharan Singh and JE R.K.Koul Subhash Sangra,Veenu Khanna and Krishan Kapoor were also present on the occasion.
BJP leaders who accompanied the MLA included Dilip Gupta, Prof Shyam, Shashi Sapolia, Ashwani, Naresh Pradhan, Kuldeep, Girdhari Lal,Vijesh Bharti, Rajinder Gupta, Chaman Lal, Rajesh Nischal, Hari Om, Gokul Koul, Ravi Singh and Ved Prakash Padha.
Meanwhile, members of All J&K Sain Samaj held a meeting with Mr Gupta and demanded funds for up gradation of Sian Samaj Community Hall at Rani Talab Jammu.
The MLA after the meeting released an amount of Rs 14,17,500 from his CDF for the community hall.
