JAMMU, May 16: Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), Jammu has urged upon the Union Government to come up with notification on AIIMS at Vijaypur and Awantipur in J&K state.
In a meeting of the Chamber held here today its members described the announcement of three Cancer Institutes and setting up of two AIIMS in J&K shortly as positive development but at the same time, they urged the Union Government to come up with notification on the AIIMS at Vijaypur in Samba and Awantipur in Kashmir.
Rakesh Gupta, Chamber president reposed full faith in the announcement made by JP Nadda in presence of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, Dr Jitendra Singh Union MoS in PMO and Bali Bhagat, Minister for Health and Medical Education. But he cautioned both the State and the Union Health Ministries that patients need doctors and Medical machinery and not just buildings. The Chamber pointed out the plight of the Super Specialty Hospital in Bakshi Nagar Jammu which can in no way be termed as a Super Specialty Hospital.
He demanded that the Super Specialty Hospital, Maheshpura in Bakshi Nagar Jammu be immediately out sourced on PPP mode or else handed over to Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board who have already operationalized the Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super Specialty Hospital on PPP mode. He said that no other demand can be more important than better health care facilities.
The other officer bearers present in the meeting included Sham Lal Langer, senior vice president, Deepak Aggarwal, Junior vice president, Arun Gupta, secretary general, Rahul Mahajan- secretary and Ashu Gupta- treasurer.
