POONCH, May 16: Several issues of the retired Defence personnel and their families were solved during an ex-servicemen rally held at Mendhar town of Poonch district today.
The rally was organised by Maj (Retd), Prem Singh, Zila Sainik Welfare Officer, Poonch on the directions of Director Sainik Welfare Department (J&K), Brig (Retd) Harcharan Singh. The team from Zila Sainik Welfare office Poonch addressed many grievances of the ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and their families on the spot.
Earlier, Havaldar ( Retd) Mohd Shamim, district president ESM League welcomed the Welfare Officer and his staff. The ZSWO educated the ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and their children about the welfare schemes and also resolved some of their problems on the spot. The team also educated wards of ex-defence personnel about the recruitment/ commissioning in the Armed Forces. CSD Smart Cards applications and letters for Station orders were prepared on the spot. Newly retired Defence personnel from Mendhar area were issued Ex-servicemen Identity cards. They were also briefed to the benefits of ECH Scheme.
