With every passing day, the traffic scene in Poonch district is getting chaotic. The overloaded Tata Sumos, auto-rikshas and buses plying on roads continue to bother the passengers. Overloading has become a common scene on Poonch routes. Although traffic authorities claim of streamlining the traffic, and checking overloading but these claims have proved hollow. One can see overloaded vehicles on Mandi-Fatehpur, Mandi – Loran, Parade Ground to Banwat, Mandi-Sawjian and other routes. The people are seen hanging from behind, and precariously placed on roof top. These passengers can also be seen as cramped inside the vehicles. In this situation children and women suffer the most. Besides, many overloaded matadors have turned turtle in the past causing injuries to passengers.
To avoid such a situation, it is requested that overloading be checked in this hilly region of the State.
