Cop booked for obtaining job on fake certificates

JAMMU, May 18: Crime Branch has registered a case against a cop namely Atta Mohd Naik of Banihal, who obtained job on fake certificates as actually he was illiterate.
One Abdul Rashid Sohil, a resident of Banihal filed a complaint before the State Vigilance Commission alleging that one Mohd Naik was totally illiterate but had submitted fake certificates/documents in order to secure a job in the Police Department.
Presently, Mohd Naik is serving as Barber in IRP 9th BN Maitra. It was further alleged that in the service book of Mohd Naik date of birth has been reflected as 01-04-1969 and date of appointment as 24-12-1985 which means that he was appointed at the age of 16 years being ineligible.
On the receipt of this complaint, the matter was got enquired by the SVC through Commandant IRP 9th Bn, and on the basis of the report of the Commandant an order dated 30-11-2015 was passed by the State Vigilance Commission wherein Director General of Police was directed to register a formal case into the matter.
Subsequently, the matter was received in the Crime Branch through the Police Headqu-arters. “The omissions and commissions on the part of Atta Mohd Naik prima facie, constitute offences punishable under Sections 420,465,467,468,471, 120-B RPC”, the Crime Branch spokesman said.
