SRINAGAR, Sept 18:  Army operation in the Uri forests entered fourth day today after a group of recently infiltrated militants from Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) was trapped there.
The incessant rains and terrain is hampering the operation that was launched last week after Army noticed suspicious movement of the militants in the Lacchipora forests of Uri in North Kashmir.
Initially they thought that the number of militants is two but later it turned out to be a group of recently infiltrated militants. The area has big boulders and it has given cover to the militants.
The Army has recovered so far one body of a Pakistani militant, four magazines, 4 UBGL grenade, one pistol, one hand grenade, one pistol ammunition with magazine, one wireless set, one GPS set, one Thuraya Satellite phone, one knife and some medicine.
Army sources said at least 3-4 militants of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) who had managed to infiltrate through Kamalkote sector of Uri on September 2 are trapped in these forests.
The operation was conducted by 18 Dogra of Army and they believed that one of the militants is injured and is hiding somewhere in near the encounter site wherefrom one of the bodies was recovered.
