Srinagar, May 19: Army today said 18 meritorious students from Bakhaiyan, Drugmulla, Shopian, Pulwama, Kulgam and Anantnag villages have been identified to appear in the entrance test at prestigious school Army Public School Beas (Punjab).
A defence spokesman said the entrance test is generally conducted in the premises of school at Beas. “However, in an exceptional case and as a measure to provide relief to the parents of these children, a central place near Srinagar was identified by Army for the conduct of test.
“Entrance test for Army Public School, Beas was conducted at Headquarters Victor Force at Awantipur. Eighteen Students appeared against six vacancies from 6th to 9th class. Exam was conducted in a transparent manner,” he added.
All the parents and the students were given refreshments and lunch by the local Army Unit, the spokesman said, adding that Seema Narula, a senior family member from APS Beas, personally met all the parents and children who came for the entrance test.
