Jammu migrants’ leaders for implementation of HC, SC order

JAMMU, May 21: Panthers Party leaders and the leaders of Jammu Migrants Action Committee today warned that the Jammu migrants will resort to indefinite ‘fast unto death’ in front of Prime Minister’s House in New Delhi if they are not provided the relief in cash and kind which has been ordered by the State High Court.
Talking to reporters here today the leaders of the two organizations said that they will resort to fast unto death in case the demand was not settled.
They said the State High Court had also ordered to pay an interest @ 9% from the date of default in 2004 to the migrants of Jammu.  This petition was filed by the Panthers Party before the High Court through its State general secretary Kamal Goria.  The SC gave the final judgment after rejecting J&K Government appeal.  On April 19, 2016. The High Court in a contempt petition of JKNPP directed the State to pay compensation with interest.
P.K Ganju vice-president, Ms Anita Thakur general secretary,  Balwan Singh Chairman Talwara Migrant Action Committee,  Jagdev Singh president Migrant Action Committee, Sumitra Devi secretary Migrant Action Committee while addressing the press conference accused the BJP-PDP Government of betraying the interest of the Jammu migrants and directly violating the judgment of the SC and the HC.
Talwara migrants expressed their tragic situation they have been facing in Talwara Camp where no drinking water, no water supply, no electricity and no ration is available. The Migrants Middle School is in shambles and there are no teachers.  They demanded that there should be no discrimination in payment of relief between Jammu migrants-Kashmiri migrants and also in providing basic human amenities of life.
