JAMMU, May 21: Reiterating its demand for early release of pending 6 percent DA installment due from January last, National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) has urged the State Finance Minister (FM) to announce the same in favour of the employees and pensioners while presenting budget in the State Assembly on May 30.
Addressing a well attended meeting of NMC activists, NMC president, Subhash Shastri, said that in view of sharp increase of the prices of essential commodities, an another installment of 8 percent DA has also become due to both Central and State Government employees and pensioners from July 1, 2016, is need of the hour.
Shastri said that any delay in such matter is not in the interest of State exchequer. He further emphasized the need for immediate amendment to SRO 64.
